FEST DAY PROGRAMME - 2021

The feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel 2021 The feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, the patroness of our school, is celebrated annually on July 16th . On this day we recall Mary?s motherly patronage, guidance and her loving care and protection. This day is also celebrated as foundation day of the Apostolic Carmel congregation which was founded by Venerable Mother Veronica foundress of the Apostolic Carmel in 1868 at Bayonne, France. Rooted on the contemplative spirit of carmel, and nourished by its life of prayer and missionary zeal, the Apostolic Carmel expresses the vitality of the church through its fruitfulness in the active apostolate of education and other works of mercy. 16th July is also marked as foundation day of the Carmel Convent High School, Kalamboli in the year 2000. Due to COVID ? 19 pandemic it was unfortunate for the students to celebrate the feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel in the school, hence virtual programme was conducted for the students from grade I to X. All the students took part in the programme with enthusiasm. The virtual programme started by seeking almighty?s blessing through a prayer dance followed by prayer service performed by the students of grade IX and X. Students of grade VIII performed a value based mono act which they have learnt from the school. Students of grade VII sang choir song, grade V and VI students sang the devotional songs in the praise of Mother Mary and students from grade I to IV expressed hearty wishes to all the sisters and teachers, by making creative and beautiful greeting cards. The school principal Sr. Sushmita conveyed message on the importance of the day and showered her blessing to all the students and parents through the virtual programme. The virtual programme concluded by singing the school anthem. The feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel was celebrated in the school ground floor hall by the teachers of Carmel Convent High School, Kalamboli on 15th July 2021. The programme incharge was Tr. Sudha, the school secretary. The programme was systematically conducted under the guidance and supervision of Tr. Sudha. The programme started by the auspicious ceremony of lamp lighting followed by a blissful prayer dance, solemn prayer service and a prayer song that highlighted the importance of grace towards the growth in divine intimacy. Tr. Tereza and Tr. Sreelatha delivered an introductional speech to mark the significance of the day. Tr. Sunita welcomed the gathering by delivering a wonderful speech. All the sisters were honoured with the token of love by Tr. Sreelatha and Tr. Luiza along with the team of teachers. Tr. Rebecca performed a solo dance which was applauded by the audience. Music is the way to reach out to the people, a sweet and enthralling song was sung by Sir Rajesh and his team. A short skit was enacted by the teachers of primary section, which gave the message of obeying the rules in the public places. A Konkani dance performed by pre-primary teachers and the entertainment dance performed by the teachers of primary section, middle school section and high school section entertained all. The primary incharge, Sr. Elita and the school principal Sr. Sushmita, expressed their views on overall programme with their motivational words that inspired the gathering. A mesmerizing video of students virtual programme was displayed, that truly touched the strings of every ones heart and made the celebration a grand success. The programme concluded with the vote of thanks delivered by Tr. Megha, to express the gratitude towards each and everyone involved in the programme and also the one who graced the occasion of the feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel with their presence.
