Sanskrit Day Celebration

Sanskrit Day Celebration

Delhi Public School

Carmel Convent High School celebrated the World Sanskrit day on 12th July 2022. Sanskrit day was initially celebrated in the year 1969 when the government decided to illuminate the world about the importance of this language that is deeply rooted in the Hindu culture. World Sanskrit day is celebrated on Shravana Purnima, that is full moon day of the Shravan month in the Hindu calendar. The main objective of celebrating Sanskrit day was to spread awareness about and promote the revival of Sanskrit. It acknowledges the place Sanskrit holds in Indian history and culture. Our school had arranged several events like prayer dance, prayer song, powada, Skit based on Ramayana and Bollywood song (Sanskrit translated). The events conducted on this day were all in Sanskrit language. Our school principal Sr. Sushmita appreciated and admired the Sanskrit students and also the teacher in charge for the arrangement of this programme. The program was remarkable and inspiring for other students.
