Birthday of Mother Veronica and Gandhi Jayanti

The Apostolic Carmel Sisters inaugurated the bi-centennial birth anniversary of its foundress Venerable Mother Veronica and also celebrated Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti with great zeal and enthusiasm on Monday 3rd October, 2022 at Carmel Convent High School, Kalamboli. The procession of lighted lamps was carried by the sisters and a few of the staff members and was placed before the portrait of Venerable Mother Veronica and Mahatma Gandhi. After garlanding the portraits, Prayer service was conducted by all the catechism students of our school. Bhajan ‘Raghupati Raghav Rajaram’ was sung by all .After the prayer,the significance of both the days was enumerated by our Principal Sr. Sushmita. She highlighted the noble and heroic life of Mother Veronica and the teachings of Mahatma Gandhi. She led the school in paying tribute to the father of our nation –Mahatma Gandhi who is pioneer of truth and non- violence on his 153rd birth anniversary. All the sisters recalled gratitude to Mother Veronica, her sacrifice, deep trust in God, love for the poor and needy and a strong desire to empower women. Our Principal Sr. Sushmita also depicted the motto of the Apostolic Carmel-‘God alone suffices’. She suggested another word for God is love and urged every Carmelite to love all. The program ended with the school anthem.
