Carmel Convent High School, Kalamboli celebrated The 74th Republic Day on January 26, 2023.
The students took pride in glorifying and celebrating the spirit of unity and brotherhood. The event began at 8:00 am with the hoisting of the Indian National Flag by the Chief Guest Dr. Arun Pillai, Professor and Head of the Department of Applied Sciences, Mathematics, and Humanities in Pillai College of Engineering, followed by the National Anthem. The students of the four squads i.e. Preeti, Pragati, Vidhya and Asha marched in their colourful house uniforms rhythmically to the tunes played by the school band. To witness the march past, PSI Pandurang Sathe, ASI Satish Shidore, and Head Constable Atul Shinde all from the Kalamboli traffic department were there to judge the best march past squad. The large audiences were enthralled by the synchronised display of the school band which left everyone in continuous applause. The school echoed with patriotic fervor as the children of Class VI and VII danced to the tunes of patriotism, enacted skits, sang patriotic songs, and even wore tri-colored clothes to mark the occasion. The Chief Guest in his speech highlighted the significance of the day and made the children aware that the future of our country lies in their hands. Hence they need to study well and inculcate good values in life, which will help them to be good citizens of the country. Toward the end, the Best March Past trophy was given to the “Vidhya squad” by the honorable Chief guest for their best-marching footsteps. The program concluded with the prize distribution ceremony whereby the Principal Sr.Sushmita and the Manager Sr.Elita distributed Trophies,certificates and cash prizes to the winners of State level coloring competition conducted by Raghukul Education Trust, Dombivil. Many parents witnessed the occasion. Sweets were distributed to all the students.
