Learning by doing and learning by living are two essentials of learning science. In the classroom everything is done in a formal, artificial and controlled atmosphere. Science club activities make learning of science joyful as it caters to freedom for expression, stimulating group participation and mobilizing interest.
The aims and objectives of a science club are as follows:
- To develop among the students the spirit and attitude of healthy competition.
- To help students in imbibing the habit of self-reliance and self-dependence.
- To create interest in the latest inventions and discoveries of science in various fields and to get acquainted with the life history and contributions of great scientists.
- To provide proper incentive and inspiration for the pursuit of scientific knowledge by broadening their scientific outlook.

Objectives
The Eco Club aimed to:
- Promote environmental awareness and education among students and teachers.
- Reduce waste generation and promote recycling and composting in the school.
- Create a green and clean school environment through tree planting and cleanliness drives.
Activities and Achievements
- Tree Planting Drive*: The Eco Club organized a tree planting drive in the school premises, where many trees were planted.
- Recycling Program*: The club initiated a recycling program, collecting and recycling over 100 kg of paper and plastic waste.
- Census of school Garden was conducted.
- Environmental Workshops*: The club organized environmental workshops for students, focusing on topics such as climate change, conservation, and sustainability.
- Lunch box check research was conducted to promote healthy eating habits and ensure that our students are getting the nutrients they need to succeed.
- Awareness to save water : Students prepared the posters regarding save water and they also gave speech regarding importantance of water.
Challenges and Future Plans
- Increasing Participation*: The club aims to increase participation from students and teachers in Eco Club activities.
- Expanding Recycling Program*: The club plans to expand the recycling program to include other types of waste, such as glass and metal.

The Literary Club aims at preparing, educating and helping students to discover and acquire some communicative skills which will help them to stand out in their respective professions. It also aims to make students aware of the literary treasure and traditions, to motivate them for writing, to help them for enhancing communication skills and to make them know value and worth of human existence.
The primary objective of the Literary Club is to promote the literary talents of the students. Moreover, it provides them with the chance to express their creativity and talents in the best possible way. It is the place where students are free to think, read and express on the topics of their interest and choice.
The Literary Club of Carmel Convent School, Kalamboli conducted its meeting on 14th June, 2024. The agenda was to discuss the activities and competitions to be held by the Literary Club for the academic year 2024-2025.All the activities and competitions were discussed and certain teachers were given the charge to conduct the activities and competitions. All the members of Literary Club were present for the meeting.
For the academic year 2024-2025, the Literary Club conducted various activities and competitions like English Handwriting Competition, G.K. Quiz Competition (History Of India), Marathi Extempore Competition, Hindi Divas, Story Telling Competition, Mime Act Competition, English Elocution Competition, English Debate Competition, News Reading, Hindi Poem Competition, Hindi Speech Competition and Marathi Bhasha Gaurav Din were conducted to kindle the creative capabilities of the students. The students were instructed about the rules and regulations including the code of conduct set by the Literary Club. The Literary Club provided its members a suitable platform to hone their literary talents with productive suggestions, healthy criticism and heartfelt appreciation. All the Literary club members actively involved in all the club events, worked as a team and uplifted the club’s values.
A Sports Club aims to promote students’ well-being, develop physical and mental skills, foster teamwork and encourage participation in sports and games. It also aims to make students aware about the importance for the all-round development of them. The primary objective of the Sports Club is to provide opportunities for students to develop a positive attitude, self-confidence, sportsmanship, leadership skills and social skills through team roles and event organization. Sports activities play a vital role in the character formation of every student. It is committed to provide a healthy sporting habit among the students. It helps to learn teamwork, coordination among diverse cultural and ethnic groups and mainly infuses discipline and instils the value system in one individual.
For the academic year 2024-2025, the Sports Club of Carmel Convent High School, Kalamboli conducted various sports events like Chess & Carrom for Std III to X Football, Basketball, Throw ball, and Volley ball for Std. V to X and Langdi and Dodge ball for std. III and IV. Selected students participated in these sports activities and strived for excellence. They learnt that value of time, precision, competitiveness and teamwork are major learning points to achieve success.
